You do not need any prior experience before taking this class.

“Glass & Design” is an ad-on class that you can take that will allow you the opportunity to design your own piece (with a 10” x 10” space & 20 piece limit). Otherwise you will have approximately 10 different patterns to choose from for your project.

You will have the use of all the equipment and tools you need at the studio, but you also have the option to order a Stained Glass Starter Kit curated by myself, that includes all of the tools and equipment for you to start making stained glass at home.

There will be a small selection of glass for sale that you can purchase to take home to get started making projects at home. You will be able to pay with cash or card at the time of purchase. All glass needed for your in-class project is included in the price of this course

You will learn the basics of tracing and pattern cutting. From there, we will cover the methods of scoring and breaking glass. That will take us into glass grinding. Once grinding is completed, we will take a 20-30 minute recess. We will resume with the copper foil method. Following the copper foil method, we will go over soldering your piece together. After we solder, we will cover cleaning, patina (optional), framing and polishing.

After this class, you will have the knowledge and technical skills to dive into making your very own stained glass at home.
